Spring Break Activities in Atlanta

Ooooooh, no school, no books or teachers--add to that the luxury of getting out of bed late...what a holiday! After a long and cold winter semester, Spring Break is so looked forward to by kids and teens that we just had to come up with some fun things for them to do in Atlanta and environs. Whether you're visiting or living Atlanta, this Spring Break guide should help you make the most of your children's week of off school:

Day Camp in Paradise…
The Atlanta Botanical Garden offers several day camp programs for children ages 4-12. Each camp session is designed to be both fun and educational, and to integrate hands-on classroom activities with nature exploration in the Garden and the Fuqua Conservatory.

Environmental Day Camp…
2009 Environmental Summer Day Camp. Also at Atlanta Botanical Garden you may enroll your child in a summer day camp full of discovery, adventure and nature exploration. Camp sessions include fun and educational activities in the Children's Garden, Gardens Under Glass, children's classroom and more. Each day will focus on different environmental themes and include a healthy snack. Children will be immersed in the natural world through stories, games, experiments and arts and crafts. Ages 4- 6 may take part in Half Day Sessions. Half day session campers will find out as they explore the Garden and discover the plants and animals that live there. This session is a great introduction to the natural world for young, curious naturalists!

Ages 7 - 10 years may take part in full day sessions where they will take a fun look at some of the weird and wild ways that plants and animals have adapted to their extreme environments. This exotic adventure introduces children to South American Rainforests, Aftican Deserts and Georgia's own bogs and forest. Campers should come prepared to explore, dig in the dirt and play in the Garden.
