The Stinky Cheese Man takes a classic fairy tale, about the gingerbread man, and turns it on its ear, to the delight of kids of all ages. So what happens when you make a man out of stinky cheese instead of gingerbread? Some madcap adventures result, all teaching an important moral lesson: It’s okay to be lactose intolerant.
The Stinky Cheese Man will have you and your kids holding your sides from laughing so hard, despite his sad plight—no one will chase him because he smells so bad! The show is based on the award-winning book of the same name, and rewrites such revered tales as “Jack and the Beanstalk” and “Cinderella” as well as “The Gingerbread Man.”
You’ll be reminded of both Hans Christian Anderson and Gary Larsen of Far Side fame. All I know is, you’ll find this twisted take on some beloved stories uproariously funny.
Why shouldn’t Cinderella be uppity, and why shouldn’t Jack be the narrator? These and other questions will have you giggling and sharing gleeful smiles with your kids. While the old stories are great, these new approaches add some much-appreciated humor.
