Overview
Atlanta's 4th of July celebration will be huge this year! Start out the day with the Salute 2 America parade, renowned as the biggest Independence Day parade in the country.
|
Peachtree Street will be filled with appearances by celebrities, beautiful floats, beauty queens and marching bands.
Kids will love the huge character balloons, usually seen in the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York.
The parade ends at the Centennial Olympic Park, but that's not where the day ends. Families will love the incredible celebration going on at the park throughout the day.
Bring a blanket and stake out a home- |
base for the family on the park lawn, then explore all the fun children's activities and enjoy the family-friendly entertainment.
Kids will
love running through the grand, interactive Fountain of Rings in the park.
Families are welcome to bring a picnic basket or buy food from the vendors in
the park. A spectacular fireworks display will finish the day's celebration with
a bang!
4th of July, Atlanta style, pulls thousands of people into the city, so families
are encouraged to use the MARTA transportation system rather than drive. Don't
bring pets or glass products to the park, but definitely remember the sunscreen.
