Chattahoochee Nature Center in a pristine refuge just minutes away from downtown Atlanta that attracts thousands of visitors each year. Located along the beautiful Chattahoochee River, the Nature Center is a place where hawks swoop, turtles sunbathe on submerged logs, and cattails sway along the quit riverbank. Here, Nature sets the pace for your learning expedition. The mission of the Chattahoochee Nature Center is to "promote an understanding and appreciation of our natural environment."
Camp Kingfisher accomplishes this mission through hands-on environmental education programs and dynamic outdoor activities in a safe, fun, and stimulating setting. Guided Canoe Trips run Thursday through Sunday from June until August. 6pm - Dusk. Ages 6 and Up.
Guided canoe trips offer an informal introduction to the history and ecology of the Chattahoochee River watershed, one of Georgia’s most important natural resource. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience one of metro Atlanta’s best-kept secrets! Your sunset trip will take you on a 2 ½ hour educational adventure, led by an experienced CNC naturalist where you may see beavers, otters, herons, ospreys, wildflowers and a variety of wetland plants. No prior canoeing experience is necessary, and basic canoeing instructions are given. Participants are expected to be an active part of this program including paddling, wearing life jackets, and transporting equipment to the river.
