Known for its lush naturalistic habitats, Zoo Atlanta offers an exciting collection of animals from all over the world, including Asian small-clawed otters, red kangaroos, Bornean and Sumatran orangutans and a Komodo dragon. Zoo Atlanta is a world leader in research and conservation efforts as well as a long standing cultural institution in the city of Atlanta.
Zoo Atlanta is one of only four zoos in the U.S. with giant pandas, including a cub born on September 6, 2006. Plus, don't miss the rare gorilla twins in one of the nation's largest collections of Western lowland gorillas. Visit the KIDZone to ride the carousel or train and enjoy close encounters in the petting zoo. Make sure to catch one of the wildlife shows, training demonstrations and zookeepers talks. Don't forget to stop by Wild Like Me, the new fun indoor playspace presented by Boomerang!
Presently, the zoo boasts a collection of 1,000 specimens with 250 species of animals from all over the world. Located at Atlanta’s Grant Park, the 40-acre designated to the Zoo Atlanta are devoted to the conservancy.
