Southeastern Expeditions (SEE) is a whitewater adventure company offering whitewater rafting, canoe, and kayaking trips on the Chattooga and Ocoee Rivers. Enjoy the beauty of the Chattahoochee National Forest with a rafting trip on the beautiful Chattooga River. Through the Appalachian foothills of the Chattahoochee and Sumter National forests flows the ""Wild and Scenic"" Chattooga River. Forming about 40 miles of the GA/SC border, the Chattooga is home to the filming of the movie Deliverance. Rated one of the 10 best runs in the country, the Chattooga is blessed with stunning scenery and outstanding whitewater.
The Chattooga is split into five sections, two of which are suitable for whitewater rafting. Please see below for trip options! Section III Mini Trip SEE is happy to offer our newest option for beginners, families with younger children, and older customers wanting to get a short introduction to whitewater. The Mini Trip offers a half-day trip option on the Chattooga River. Enjoy the scenery, take a break riverside for a tasty snack, and finish up with some great Chattooga river whitewater.
Trips run on TUESDAYS ONLY throughout the summer. Trip Length: 3-4 hours, Class II-IV, beginner to intermediate Snack: included Minimum age: 8 Tuesdays (May-Sept.): Groups 10+
Section III Beginner Fun This is the perfect outing for first time rafters, families, and those who want to guide their own raft. The fun, relaxed pace of the trip allows plenty of time for swimming and exploring the beautiful Chattooga River. We are the only company to offer a guide in every raft during the summer months. If you want a little more adventure we’ll let you to guide your own raft! Trip Length: 6 hours, Class II-IV, beginner to intermediate Lunch: included Minimum age: 10 Weekday (May-Sept.): Groups 10+ Weekend (May-Sept.): $80
Section IV Adventure A trip filled with excitement and adventure, Section IV offers some of the steepest commercial whitewater in the Southeast. Drops and ledges offer a challenging experience, while breath-taking waterfalls and scenery make this the ultimate whitewater rafting trip. This is a fully guided expedition. Trip Length: 7 hours, Class III-V, intermediate to advanced Lunch: included Minimum age: 13 Weekday (May-Sept.): Groups 10+ Weekend (May-Sept.): $108 Overnight Rafting/Camping Experience This is one trip you don’t want to miss!
Raft Section III on the first day and then spend the evening at our exclusive riverside campsite being catered to by our camp chefs. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner of steak or locally caught trout and a big country breakfast the next morning. On the second day challenge
Section IV. They’ll provide and set up all your camping gear (except sleeping bag and ground pad). Trip Length: 2 days, 1 night, Class II-IV, beginner to advanced Meals: 2 lunches, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast Minimum age: 13 Weekend Raft and Duckie Rental If you are looking for a little more adventure and would like to guide yourself down the river, we also rent duckies (inflatable kayaks) and rafts on Sections II and III of the Chattooga River. We do recommend that you have some experience on the Chattooga prior to renting these items.
You must register yourself as a private boater, and have at least 2 boats on the river at all times. We’ll help you decide the best place to put in depending on the water level. To rent these items you must provide your own shuttle service, as they cannot transport you to and from the river.
