Vacation in an authentic Pre-Civil War log cabin,
in the mountains. Step back into the 1800s, as you approach our cabins you'll notice
the craftsmanship displayed by the early Appalachian people.
Massive hand-hewn logs are placed intricately atop
each other to form these primitive homesteads. All the charm of the 1800s, but all
the conveniences of today. Each cabin has a full kitchen, heat and air conditioning,
a rock fireplace (wood furnished), satellite TV with VCR, telephone, B-B-Q grill
and linens. All cabins are similarly furnished and have the above conveniences.
I
tems unique to each cabin are listed. We have restored
these 150 year old cabins and taken special pride in this process. The cabins are
furnished with some period antiques and are tastefully decorated.
This includes antique beds, quilts, dressers, primitive
farm tables, pie safes, chairs, and turn of the century claw foot bath tubs. Or,
if you prefer, take a dip in the cool waters of the Nottely River for a real glimpse
of the early life! At any of our cabins you can totally relax.
Rocking on the porch, smelling the clean mountain
air, reading a good book, listening to the river flow, maybe observing a wild deer
or turkey.
Spend a afternoon walking through the woods or along
the river, on a 500-acre farm, perhaps discovering an arrowhead or piece of Indian
pottery. Imagine slipping into a bubble bath, in a deep, smooth claw foot tub, drifting
back to simpler times. No pollution, crowds, or schedules. Or curling up in front
of a massive rock fireplace, listening to the oak wood crackle and watching the
reflections of the flickering flames dance around the room. Then snuggling in to
an antique bed, under a patchwork antique quilt, and listening to rain patter on
a tin roof.
