 Centennial Olympic Park

Centennial Olympic Park is sometimes called the world's gathering place since its debut during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

Its reopening in 1998 hailed a new venue for great events while remaining a lasting legacy to the Olympic Games.

The 21-acre park is home to multiple free events, including a Fourth of July celebration and Family Fun Days, among others.

But you don't have to wait for a special event to visit this great outdoor oasis in the heart of the city.

Visit anytime, as a great way to experience a little nature right downtown.

The hallmark of the park is the Fountain of Rings, an interactive fountain using the Olympics' interconnecting rings as its theme.

Now the fountain ?performs? for the park's visitors daily as the water dances to popular music, a synchronized effects show featuring lights and sound.

You'll be mesmerized by the effects of this dancing water show as you and your kids amble along through this urban paradise filled with trees and beautiful landscaping. Centennial Park was designed to commemorate the centennial of the modern Olympics. It has come to represent so much
