Location: 7645 Roswell Rd., Sandy Springs
Big Trees Forest is a fitting name for a great place.
Nestled in the city of Sandy Springs, Big Tree Forest is the place to go to refresh
your spirit and let your kids experience nature in a relaxed, comfortable setting.
And yes, there are big trees.
Diverse middle growth forest surrounds you, including
white oak trees, some 100 and 200 years old. What a way to get some quiet time and
some exercise at the same time! You will enjoy being still and watching the forest
to see the leaves sway in gentle breezes and birds flit from tree to tree.
Visitors are encouraged to respect the nature
that surrounds them and leave only their footprints behind. More good news—dogs are welcome
on leashes, so you can make this a full family affair. The park is open seven days
a week from sunrise to sunset.
How about a late-afternoon hike to gather rocks
and leaves for a nature shadowbox? Or an early morning walk to hear birds singing
and try to mimic their music? Whenever you visit, you’re sure to discover the beauty
and wonder this forest provides every day.
