Location: 73 W. Underwood St., Cleveland
Babyland General Hospital, where Cabbage Patch Kids
are born and raised until their almost certain adoption, is where you can go to
“pick” your very own kid and formally adopt him or her. There is truly no other
place like it, with a delivery
room where Licensed Patch Nurses (LPNs) and doctors
assist Mother Cabbages as they experience labor and give birth to Xavier Roberts’
one-of-a-kind creations.
You’ll want to take your time wandering through
the hospital to find your perfect kid from among the preemies, newborns and kids.
Once you’ve found the kid that captures your heart, you’ll participate in an adoption
consultation and take the oath of adoption.
Only then do you receive your birth certificate,
and your kid, to take home and pamper for years to come. These dolls are more than toys; they’re great companions and they represent the incredible diversity and variety
we find when we look around our world. Lovable and full of personality, Cabbage
Patch Kids are a gift that can last a lifetime.
But whether you adopt or not, a visit to the hospital
will be a thrill for your kids, since this is a world within a world, detached from
reality and yet somehow a key part of it.
