ABOUT THIS LOCATION:
Deanna Barton (a.k.a, Miss Dee) has worked with children of all ages for many years as a childcare provider, camp counselor, dance/cheerleading coach, and as an art therapist. Deanna received a Masters in Art Therapy in 2010 from The George Washington University where she interned in a school setting working with special needs children and children with autism spectrum disorders, a mental health facility, and a county health department. Deanna’s philosophy is that nurturing children’s mental and emotional health is just as important as focusing on their academics. Furthermore, by encouraging children to be creative and playful, we help them to discover their unique talents. Structured activity time allows children to learn new skills, master new skills, and build self-esteem all while having fun.
